Red Clover
Red Clover flower extract is rich in isoflavones which have proven to be extremely beneficial for managing multiple symptoms of menopause. Numerous clinical studies have indicated that it takes as little as 40–80 mg of red clover to have a major impact, drastically reducing many common symptoms including hot flashes.[1] In one trial looking at the effects of this botanical extract, participants experienced a 73% reduction in hot flashes within just 3 months of regular use. [2]

Dong Quai
Extracts of the plant dong quai, which is often called ‘female ginseng’, have been traditionally used in alternative medicine to ease menstrual pain and PMS, and this active ingredient has been extensively tested for its benefits in reducing symptoms associated with both perimenopause and menopause.[3] Research has indicated that it may be even more beneficial when combined with other key ingredients such as black cohosh and red clover, as it is in the Menoquil formula, and in addition to providing relief from hot flashes and night sweats, also helps improve the quality of sleep.[4]

Wild Yam Root
Studies looking at the link between wild yam root and hormonal balance, have shown that it may have a stabilizing effect on estrogen levels, thereby supporting a reduction in multiple menopausal symptoms.[5] Moreover, it has also shown promising results when it comes to helping to reduce instances of urinary tract infections, uterine cramping, or chronic pelvic pain, and it is known to contain diosgenin, which acts as an intestinal anti-inflammatory supplement.[6]

Soy Isoflavones
Soy is a highly nutritious ingredient, rich in fiber and protein plus free radical-fighting antioxidants.[7] Studies show that soy isoflavones affect the metabolism of estrogen, increasing the menstrual cycle length and potentially reducing the risk for breast cancer. [8] Several studies have indicated that soy isoflavones significantly reduced the occurrence of hot flashes among menopausal women by 26% when compared to a placebo, in addition to helping maintain bone health in menopausal women. [9] This is particularly noteworthy as menopause, and post-menopause, are times when women are at an increased risk of developing osteoporosis, a brittle bone condition that can result in debilitating fractures.

Black Cohosh Root
Black Cohosh Root has been traditionally used in North America for the management of conditions associated with women's health, including menopause and infertility. A study conducted on 80 volunteers who were going through menopause concluded that the consumption of just 20 mg of black cohosh for 8 weeks produced a significant reduction in the frequency of hot flashes. [10] Moreover, it is commonly used to help reduce the severity of night sweats, a common symptom of menopause that affects as many as 75% of women, and in one study involving 42 menopausal participants, it was found that Black Cohosh also improved the quality and duration of sleep.[11]

Chaste Berry
Extracts of the Chaste tree, native to Asian and Mediterranean regions, are useful for a range of gynecological problems including normalizing the menstrual cycle and alleviating multiple symptoms of PMS such as edema, breast pain, and irritability. [12] However, two trials involving 75 women both concluded that this botanical extract also provided noticeable relief from menopause symptoms and a separate study showed it to be effective even at low doses. [13] Furthermore, chaste berry supports the regulation of the circadian rhythm by enhancing the production of melatonin, making it ideal for easing menopause-related sleep problems.[14]

Calcium (Citrate & Phosphate)
Most people are aware calcium is needed to build strong bones. Many women, though, may not know that the main cause of a brittle bone condition is calcium deficiency. When concentrations of calcium along with additional minerals that are found in high levels in sturdy bones decrease, bones become more porous and fragile, and it takes less force to break them. Bone calcium loss occurs at a faster rate during menopause. For this reason, choosing a supplement with the right amount of calcium is important for women seeking out ways to keep their bones healthy and resilient over the long term.

Vitamin K
This vitamin may play an important role in preventing the development of brittle bones, a condition often associated with menopause. This condition is characterized by reductions in the density of bone minerals, and it results in women being more prone to fractures, which can have potentially devastating effects on a woman's life. Vitamin K aids in the synthesis of proteins needed to develop and maintain bones that are strong and healthy. Some evidence also suggests vitamin K helps the body use calcium more efficiently.

Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol)
Also known as the sunshine vitamin, this compound plays a crucial role in the maintenance of healthy bones. It helps the bones absorb calcium to preserve bone strength and density and hinders the types of bone loss that could contribute to weakness and make them more susceptible to fractures. Vitamin D may also support an uplifted mood, an important benefit for women facing hormone-related irritability and mood swings due to menopause.

Phosphorus (Calcium Phosphate)
Phosphorous, along with calcium, is a crucial component of bones that are healthy and strong. Calcium has well-established bone-preserving properties, and there is also research to suggest that it should be consumed along with phosphorous to ensure optimal results. Menoquil contains calcium phosphate that can promote bone hardness. For menopausal women this is an important advantage, because bones are not as likely to sustain fractures if they are rigid and compact.

Green Tea Leaf
A flowering plant called Camellia sinensis is the source for this extract. People throughout Asia have enjoyed drinking green tea for many years. Recently gathered evidence suggests compounds derived from the plant's leaves may help alleviate undesirable menopause symptoms. The effects appear to be particularly noticeable in women who frequently experience hot flashes. The precise manner in which the extract affects the body is not known. However, some researchers feel there could be a connection between the consumption of green tea and an ideal hormone balance. Green tea also naturally contains caffeine that supports better energy levels. This can help fight the fatigue and weariness that often occurs at the start of menopause.

Guggul Gum Resin
This plant has been part of traditional medicine in India for centuries and is thought to effectively address numerous health conditions. It may be particularly helpful to women going through menopause because it positively affects bone health. The results of a university study suggested consuming guggul may help prevent bone loss. An added benefit of the extract is that it may reduce the risk of menopausal weight gain.

Black Pepper Extract
Also known as piperine, this natural Menoquil extract supports the proper absorption of each key active ingredient, thereby ensuring that the individual experiences the full benefits of the supplement. Formulas that don’t contain black pepper extract are not as effective or fast-acting overall as those that do.
